Today BMW officially launch the first MINI E electric car with beginning production numbers 500 for lease in California and Metro New York to costumers.

In that chance Dr. Friederich Eichiner explains the purpose of the program that “driving pleasure and sustainable mobility are not mutually exclusive.” The BMW MINI E electric car have a basic design likes go-kart with zero emissions capability, and this planning was launched in September 2007 and with the name is “Project I.”

The BMW MINI E electric car provide the electric drive system, 35 kWh battery pack, the battery tecnology will have single speed gearbox with a range of more than 240 kilometers or 150 miles, can achieve 60 mph in 8.5 seconds, this BMW electric car has a weighs in at 660 lbs and used the Dynamic Stability Control (DSI) with Electrical Power Assisted Steering (EPS). see more picture of the sexy MINI E elecric car after the break.
