Intel, nVidia, and ARM will Show off in the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona1 comment

This Monday, Barcelona becomes the witness for the largest trade conferences of mobile phone, the GSMA mobile World Congress. There will be more than 1,300 firms joining this conference and there are three chipmakers which will announce their new chip products or the extended support. Those three chipmakers are Intel, nVidia, and ARM

The chipmaker Intel works together with LG Electronics introduces the collaboration of MIDs based on Atom system on a chip platform, Moorestown, and Linux Moblin v2.0 software platform. Moorestown is the name for the next generation of Intel which integrates four features into one single and low power chip. LG device is the first device which will carries out this Moorestown in to the market by 2010. nVidia is discussing with Google and the Open Handset Alliance for Android with nVidia’s Tegra series of processor. This Tegra offers additional features compared to the current Android Phone. Certain features such as internet connectivity and high definition video are built in the device.

ARM, which has been known for an embedded processor, will introduce the 32 nanometers (nm) with a high-k metal gate process. The licensees can modify the processor based on their own needs. The partners will receive the access of the technology in 2009 while the full production is in early 2010.
