Synology will offers lower power consumption than devices using larger hard drives for laptop computers and a small footprint, company said a Network Attached Storage Device for 2.5-inch hard drives is the 4-Bay Disk Station DS409slim can support up to 2TB of storage in a 120-by-105-by-142-mm enclosure, the device called DS409Slim NAS, the price of about $400.
The DS409slim comes with a 1.2GHz processor, 128MB of DDR2 RAM, a Gigabit LAN port, two USB 2.0 ports, and an eSATA port. It offers a snap-in disk tray probable at creation it easier to install and put back drives. Synology also says the DS409slim consumes only 19 watts of power under normal operation and company will start shipping this month.
